Ewa Kara - Richmond upon Thames Brand and lifestyle photographer - jumping with a camera in her hands

Hello, stranger!

1 January 2023

Welcome to my blog! And I hope in a minute we won’t be strangers anymore.

My name is Ewa, I live in the beautiful London Borough of Richmond with my husband and the carpet-covered floors (#rentingNotOwning). And as you can tell from that one paragraph I have a weird sense of humour and I wholeheartedly agree with you.

I am a portrait and brand photographer.

And here’s my bomb: I grew up believing that because I don’t fit into the canon of beauty seen in magazines and movies with my frizzy hair and disproportionately long limbs, it means I am unattractive and worthless.

It was only after I was photographed by someone for the first time I started to feel seen. It was still ME in these photos. However, the process of having the professional photo session helped me to see myself in a different light. This shifted everything for me and my confidence grew.

So now I want to pass it forward. To show women that they’re beautiful. And help them to see that everything they need is already inside them.
And that’s what Ewa Kara Photography is about 🙂

Oh, and it’s also about believing in unicorns!

I’m usually also a bit shy, so unless I know you a bit better I won’t be the most energised person in the room, telling jokes all the time. And I think that’s good because I only know dry jokes.

This blog is something I wanted to start for quite a while now and here it comes! I want to share the photos I am taking and stories about the people in them. I want to write about YOU and I want to celebrate YOU and your trust to open yourself up in front of my camera.

Thanks for being here, x

PS. As you probably can tell from the title of this post I am a fan of Closer, this movie from 2004. If you haven’t watched it, you should! It’s beautiful but also very sad.

PS2. I find the first post on any blog always embarrassing somehow. Bloggers (well… me) put lots of attention to it and then barely anyone sees it. So from this place, I just wanted to say thank you again for reading this and I hope you have a wonderful day! X
